Mental Health

The emotional health and wellbeing of children their families is now a national concern: the impact of Covid-19, and coping with staying at home, isolation or bereavement, is significant and widespread. Now as always, we are supporting pupils, parents, families and staff to find help and support.

Our intervention team provide therapeutic intervention including mindfulness, Lego therapy, worry monster and draw and talk.

We have two new sensory spaces: the Breathing Space is a traditional sensory room containing bubble tubes, fibre optics and black light equipment. The Zen Zone is more like a living room - a controlled sensory environment where students can decompress, join in challenging conversations, and feel ready to reengage with learning.

We also have an experienced counsellor (and sometimes her therapy dog) in school two days a week for drop-in sessions or for longer term, intensive support.

Kent Police also offer a webchat service if you are not sure how or what to report.
